How can I become a better basketball player?

This will be my first year of basketball and im going to be a freshmen in 9th grade. How can I become a better basketball player? I'm 5'5 115 pounds, quick, kinda skinny, 14 and I can dribble I guess ok and shoot ok.

How can I become a better basketball player?|||Just practice different shooting spots. Do different drills, lift weights, and also do some different running drills. Just practice and practice. Practice does makes perfect.|||First off, you need to have the desire to get better. If you truly want to be a great player, you can do it. You need to believe in yourself and practice the hardest. Most importantly, though, you need to practice, practice, and practice. Make basketball your #1 priority (besides school and family of course!) Look online (youtube/google) and find resources that show you drills on how to get better.

You need to compile a training program from which you can either put together yourself, find on the internet, or ask your high school coach or anyone that you find at the gym that knows what they're doing. Become a student of the game. Watch basketball, read about basketball, and be willing to do anything to get better.

You will need to work on everything, from your shooting, to ball-handling, speed, quickness, strength, and conditioning. Ask older guys that are serious about it on how they get better, and maybe if you could workout with them or watch them. Take your ball everywhere, make it an extension of yourself. Sleep with it, dribble it around the neighborhood, shoot jumpers until you can't see anymore at night. Get a gym membership and hit the weight room. Run around your neighborhood, run hills, do sprints on the track, stretch. Most importantly though, make sure you get better everyday!

I know it sounds like alot but if you truly love the game of basketball and want to be great, you can do anything you put your mind too.

Remember... “Success is not a matter of chance; it's a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved.”|||well im a girl but my coach treated us like guys so he said we had to perfect our dribbling, lay ups, and free throws we did many drills like dribbling with two balls and practiced shooting with one hand|||Well you can practie and if some of ur friends play basketball. You can ask them to tutor you or just give you some pointers. That would help.|||Well your not extremely tall for 14 nor are you extremely short. I'm guessing you think there is more to this question then the obvious practice ?

Work on fundamentals with a friend.|||PLAY THE GAME|||practice makes perfect

i guess
