I wanna be good at basketball , not really really good but just a little bit better or near average. I'm a pretty decent athlete I can run fast and I'm a beast soccer player. My weakest areas are dribbling with my left defending and shooting.|||You already have the basic skill. Being athlectic. Just like everthing else, it takes practice, and determination. If you are determined to get better, at dribbling, defending, and shooting, you have to practice. Its not gonna come over night. It takes time. If you have trouble dribbling with your left, practice keeping your head up while being in a thriple threat postion, and dribble with your left hand 100 times everyday, and you will improve. For defense, remember to begin with your shoulders lower than the person you are guarding. Dont begin to or to far from the person your defending, so if there about to ddrive or shoot you can still defend. Use your hands, and aking long steps often will hinder your progress while defending drives. Take shorter, choppier steps and remember to "push-pull" off your front foot. For shooting, remeber BEEF. Balance-Eyes-Elbows-Follow Threw. Be relaxed and concentrate. Focus on the back of the rim, as you jump to make a shot. (always have your eyes on the back of the rim when your shooting) Practice these with someone else and by yourself and you WILL see improvement!
Also, you need to be in shape. Lifting weights can help with making your left hand stronger for dribbling.
