What basketball sneakers have good arch support?

My son has been complaining his arches hurt when playing basketball. Any suggestions out there?|||Your son might have plantar fasciitis, which is pain on the bottom/sides of the foot caused by inflammation/damage to the plantar fasciae. Does it hurt mainly in the morning?

What you can do - even if it isn't plantar fasciitis - is to buy arch supports. They're small, brown, elastic bands that go around the arch of the foot that help treat arch pain and plantar fasciitis. Also, ice and self-medicate with anti-inflammatory medications, like ibuprofen. He should also avoid walking barefoot and take it easy for a few days.

Shoe-wise, many specialized sports stores will actually fit your son's foot to his shoe. I'm not sure where you can go for basketball, but maybe even a running store would be able to help.

Good luck, and I hope he feels better!
